Social, health and other charity services in the Czech Republic
When the Velvet Revolution renewed its activities, Caritas Czech Republic (previously known as the Czech Catholic Charity) had to quickly respond to the Vaclav Havel´s amnesty. The freedom given to people with no money or family background resulted in the founding of the first counseling centers and dormitories. During this time Caritas Czech Republic pioneered home care for the elderly, sick and handicapped.
Since then, the network has expanded to become Caritas Czech Republic the largest non-governmental provider of social and health services in the country.
